During the last few years, the institutions of our university have carved a niche for themselves as a quality teaching and research institutions. A number of scholars of various departments have chiseled a reputation of producing quality research papers in National and International Conferences.

The University teachers are also working on Research Projects of ICMR etc. The university frequently organize and high level conferences, seminars and symposia in different faculties. The university has a well developed IT cell with a number of computers equipped with latest technology for helping academic and administrative wing of the university. Every institute under this university has world class facilities and pedagogy, which are constantly reviewed and upgraded to reflect the latest trends and developments in higher education.

Spread over a sprawling campus of thirty three acres, the university has the crown jewels - Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Amritsar and Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Nursing Sciences and Research, Amritsar in its campus, giving it an incomparable academic ambience. The university has also acquired adequate financial resources to build the necessary infrastructure for its new academic ventures.

The inter connectivity in all the university departments and in all the affiliated colleges which facilitates communication, research and problem solving platform, vital for sustaining academic activity among both teachers and students at the click of the mouse. Central library has fulfilled the need of providing a reference centre. Enriched with a large number of books, journals, periodicals, encyclopedias, it has also access to reputed online journals, articles, books - a rare facility to scholars and researchers.
Environment consciousness on the SGRDUHS campus can be sensed by a lung friendly ambience with total eye soothing green cover with lush green lawns. The University is a No Smoking No Drinking campus. All vehicles entering the campus are required to have a ‘Pollution under Control’ certificate.
